The purpose of planned giving is to assist Elings Park Foundation in fulfilling its mission to “create the most amazing park by a non-profit/public partnership for all to enjoy.” We endeavor to secure private contributions that support the park’s priorities.
The goal of the Legacy Society is to present donors with gift and grant options that benefit both the donors and the park. Our staff is available to assist donors in achieving their philanthropic, estate planning and tax objectives. We are pleased to provide personal financial projections to donors and professional advisors.
Please contact Steen Hudson, Executive Director, at 805.569.5611 x12 or email: shudson@elingspark.orgfor more information.
The Elings Park Legacy Society enjoys exclusive events, such as the annual Chairman’s Council and Legacy Lunches in the Park.
What is a Park? A poem about Elings Park
A park can be so many things
from flowerbeds to children’s swings
a place to go for games and play,
to dream or sit or just to lay
upon the grass in noonday sun,
in a word, a place made just for fun,
to mix with family and friends alike,
and picnic, and run and ride a bike.
But a park is most like the soul of man,
a special place for all who can
escape the clamor and worldly strife
Which haunt us through our daily life;
WHAT IS A PARK? Mere words can’t say!
But I’ll try to answer if I may,
this Park is a place to go and be free,
signed by spreading limbs of a tree,
a former grave of trash and litter,
now an oasis whose features glitter,
this Park is the essence of all that is good,
the soul, you say, of its neighborhood.
