Owl “boxes” were installed in the park last week in hopes of attracting nesting barn owls. This coast live oak (estimated to be 250 years old) was deemed optimal as the branches above provide cover and other branches can be used by owlets when test flying.
It’s big, right? That’s to give chicks room to move around. It also can be fitted with a WebCam, so stay tuned!
