Salary Range: $42.65 to $55.50/ Hourly

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, responsible for providing comprehensive administrative, logistical, and strategic support services to ensure outstanding communication and responsiveness. Also serves as primary liaison to the Board, attending Board meetings and subcommittee meetings as requested.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1.  Provide comprehensive support to the Executive Director
    • Ensure timely and accurate communication
    • Perform specialized, complex administrative duties to provide efficient office operations and completion of projects
    • Troubleshoot conflicts with limited guidance, prioritize inquiries and requests independently, make judgments to ensure effectiveness and alignment with mission
    • Conduct research and analysis on issues as assigned related to Park mission
    • Support ED donor relations, development initiatives and events
    • Prepare and edit correspondence, presentations, reports
    • Oversee general office operation and ensure appropriate coverage
  1. Board Liaison
    • Provide administrative support to the Board. Schedule and attend all Board meetings, prepare and distribute agenda items and other related documents, take and transcribe minutes, follow up on action items
    • Perform research and prepare information for special projects as requested
    • Organize meetings, retreats, special events, other logistical matters in support of the Board
    • Support Board donor relations, development initiatives and events as requested

Essential Qualifications:

  • 3 – 5 years of experience working with executive level administrator, preferably in non-profit sector.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to take initiative, multi-task, be a team player, able to adapt to shifting priorities, and independently prioritize work
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information with diplomacy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace; experience with project management or donor databases a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in exceedingly busy environment and prioritize competing needs while maintaining sense of humor and positive attitude.
  • Valid CA driver license

  • Frequently sitting or standing for extended period of time; walking various distances in Park
  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings, events, training
  • Occasionally move about the office or park campus for meetings or events.
  • Occasionally lift or move items up to 15 pounds, such as meeting materials or office supplies.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in person and via digital platforms.
  • Role is primarily indoors, with occasional participation in outdoor events or board site visits.
  • Seeing to read a variety of materials.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily indoor office environment; outdoor work environment as required.
  • Frequent interruptions.
  • Occasional exposure to dogs, on and off leash.
