“Much Ado About Nothing” is one of the most famous “rom-coms” of all time, with its budding romances, meddling villains, potential catastrophes, and witty banter between enemies-to-lovers Benedick and Beatrice. Award-winning UCSB ensemble Naked Shakes performs with minimal props and simple costumes to focus on the abilities of the actors and the brilliant words of the Bard. Irwin Appel’s original production is filled with music, dance, and revelry, and is scored by a live jazz quintet.

No Chairs Needed
Seating is on concrete in the Godric Grove Amphitheater. Cushions are recommended.

Be Sun Safe
Make sure to apply sunscreen and dress for sun exposure, especially for afternoon performances. Hats are recommended, but no sun umbrellas, please. Water dispensers are available.

Smoke-Free
Elings Park is a smoke-free park, consistent with Santa Barbara City and County Laws. No tobacco. No vaping. No marijuana.

Food Is Allowed
Outside food is allowed, but no ice chests or picnic baskets. No eating during the performance.

Beverages
One factory-sealed, plastic water bottle up to 33.8oz (1L) is allowed per person. No other outside beverages are allowed. No glass bottles and cans.

No dogs, including EPDOG members.
