Opera in the Park: A Celebration of American Song
Join us for an unforgettable afternoon of live music beneath the oaks of Godric Grove. Presented by Opera Santa Barbara, this family-friendly outdoor concert celebrates the beauty of American song through a vibrant program featuring selections from opera, musical theatre, and art song.
Set against the scenic backdrop of Elings Park, guests are encouraged to bring blankets, seat cushions, and a picnic to enjoy a relaxed afternoon of music, community, and summer sunshine. The performance will feature acclaimed Opera Santa Barbara artists Elizabeth Gallagher, Max Potter, Felipe Prado, and Matthew Peterson, accompanied on piano by program curator Catherine Miller.
The 2026 program, A Celebration of American Song, commemorates the 250th birthday of the United States with music by celebrated American composers and songwriters including Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, Jake Heggie, and more.
