Camp Elings’ partnership with PeerBuddies provides a summer camp program tailored for children and young adults with social challenges.

Activities include hiking, tag, relay races, basketball, soccer, arts and crafts and more. Your child receives professional and dedicated support, including:

  • Pairing with same-aged or slightly older Peer Buddy
  • Individualized social skills goals targeted throughout camp
  • 2:1 camper-to-adult ratio
  • Daily feedback for parents
  • Trained facilitators
  • Supervision by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Meet Inclusion Camp Instructor Elika Shahrestaniv

Elika is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA) with over 20 years of experience working with children and adolescents with social challenges. She obtained her Masters of Science in Counseling and Applied Behavior Analysis from California State University, Los Angeles, where she developed expertise in Positive Behavior Supports, Pivotal Response Treatment, the implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments, and teaching social skills to individuals with social challenges.

Currently, she is the founder and director of PeerBuddies, a Santa Barbara-based social skills program involving peer-mediated interventions to facilitate social interactions. “I am most passionate about inclusion,” she says. “I regard it as the key element in ensuring meaningful gains are achieved when teaching social skills to individuals with social challenges.”
